The Lord promised to build but one church (Matthew 16:18), which He called His kingdom (Matthew 16:19). He did so as recorded in the second chapter of the Book of Acts. Just as one might plant seed for a garden, and expect that seed to produce that particular plant, so too with the “seed of the kingdom” which Jesus identified as the word of God (Luke 8:11). When men of any age and in any land plant (obey) the seed of the kingdom, the kingdom or church will be the result.

The church of Christ is that group or body that belongs only to Christ, to which only those who have obeyed the Gospel of Christ are added (Acts 2:41,47). It is the only group, or body, or church that Jesus has promised to take back to Heaven when He comes for us at the end (1 Corinthians 15:24).

The Rager Road church of Christ is a congregation of that same New Testament church of which one can read in the Bible. This congregation was formerly the Williams Road church of Christ, having been formed from the former Gates St. church of Christ. The Gates Street congregation began in 1952 by a group that had come from the 7th Avenue church of Christ in Columbus. After building the church meeting house in 1953 or 1954, the members met here until 1968 when they moved to the Williams Road location. From here, this congregation met for 3 or 4 years in a lumber yard building while the Rager Road building was being built and finished. The Rager Road building was occupied in 2000 and continues in this location serving God in the name of His Son, Jesus.

We hope the material on this site is helpful, informative, and of value to you as a seeker of the one true church about which we read in the Bible. Come worship with us. “The churches of Christ salute you!” (Romans 16:16)
